    The Board of Regents today appointed Marybeth Casey as the Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Curriculum and Instruction and Early Learning, effective immediately. 

    “Ms. Casey brings a depth of knowledge and experience that will be a tremendous benefit to every child in New York State,” Board of Regents Chancellor Betty A. Rosa said. “I am proud to welcome Marybeth to her new role and look forward to the work she will do to ensure that every child in our state has access to a high-quality education.”

Yavner Teacher Award for his outstanding contributions to educating others about the Holocaust. The Board of Regents established the Yavner Teacher Award and the late Regent Emeritus Louis E. Yavner of New York City, who served on the Board from 1975-1981, funded the award, which recognizes teachers who have made outstanding contributions to teaching about the Holocaust and other human rights violations.
