Tours of the State Education Building
Free tours of the historic State Education Building are held periodically on Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. Each tour can accommodate 35 people and reservations are required. Reservations must be made at: Office of General Services: New York Education Building Tour Reservations.
The 45-minute Education Building tours are led by New York State Museum staff and give visitors the opportunity to explore the building adorned with murals by Albany native Will H. Low. The tours start outdoors on the front steps of the State Education Building, which is located at 89 Washington Avenue, Albany.
In addition to the Education Building tours, the public can also take tours of the State Capitol, located across the street from the Education Building. Additional information is available at: Tour the New York State Capitol.
Virtual Tours
In addition to in-person tours, virtual tours of parts of the State Education Building are available on the New York State Museum's website at Explore the State Education Building in 360 Degrees.
