ESSA and SLFS Financial Reporting

In 2015, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) established federal financial transparency reporting requirements to ensure accountability in education funding and to promote equitable resource allocation. Beginning in Fall 2024, data collection of school year 2023-2024 expenditures for the ESSA Financial Transparency Report will be combined with data collection for the newly mandated School Level Finance Survey (SLFS). This data will be utilized to satisfy both federally mandated school-level financial reporting requirements.
