"Recharging, Refreshing, Renewing Our World Language Practices"

presented by NYSAFLT and the NYSED Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages

The New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers held its annual Summer Institute on the campus of SUNY Oneonta from August 6th through 9th.  Attended by 52 educators from across the state, this event offered 20 workshop sessions on a wide array of topics relating to world language instruction over the course of 4 days with teachers earning up to 30 hours of professional learning credit.  Organized by the event Chairperson and current 1st Vice-President of NYSAFLT Sally Barnes in collaboration with the Executive Committee, the Summer Institute is an opportunity for world language teachers to learn about pedagogy and technology integration, to participate in immersion sessions, as well as to network with fellow attendees.  An update from the Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages was also presented, the PDF of which can be found here.
