School Vaccination Fraud Awareness

September 11, 2024

The New York State Department of Health protects and promotes health and well-being for all, including keeping children safe from vaccine-preventable diseases. Religious and independent schools are on the frontlines in the defense against vaccine-preventable diseases and have the responsibility to reject records they believe to be fraudulent based on their knowledge and assessment of the facts.

The New York State Department of Health wants to help religious and independent schools recognize red flags on immunization records to stop fraud and have a brand new School Vaccination Fraud Awareness website specifically for communicating about pediatric vaccination fraud with schools and parents. The site serves as a useful resource for questions about acceptable records/medical exemptions from various providers.

Religious and independent schools should report cases of suspected vaccine fraud to stopvaxfraud@health.ny.gov
