Regents Actions in 39 Professional Discipline Cases and 2 Restoration Petitions

The Board of Regents announced disciplinary actions resulting in the surrender of 3 licenses, and 36 other disciplinary actions. The penalty indicated for each case relates solely to the misconduct set forth in that particular case.  In addition, the Board acted upon 2 restoration petitions.

III. RESTORATIONS

The Board of Regents voted on October 19, 2021 to stay the execution of the order of surrender of the registered professional nurse license of Yveanne Abernathy, Brooklyn, NY, to place her on probation for three years under specified terms and conditions, and upon successful completion of probation, to fully restore her license. Ms. Abernathy's license was surrendered on January 15, 2013.

The Board of Regents voted on October 19, 2021 to deny the application for restoration of the certified public accountant license of Martin S. Nowak, Jr., Middletown, NY.  Mr. Nowak’s license was surrendered on May 17, 2010.
