SED Releases List Of Focus School Districts

New York State Education Commissioner John B. King, Jr. today identified 70 districts as Focus Districts that must develop comprehensive plans to support improvement efforts in identified Focus and Priority Schools. The Commissioner also identified 250 high achieving and high progress schools as Reward Schools. The Commissioner’s action was taken in accordance with the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) waiver that New York State received from the United States Department of Education in May.
