“Like all New Yorkers, and all Americans, we are horrified and saddened by yet another attack that has left so many dead and injured. We mourn together with the families of the fallen and grieve with everyone who is suffering the physical and emotional trauma inflicted by this senseless act of terror. We send our prayers for a speedy and thorough recovery to the two New York City students and two New York City Department of Education employees who were injured in yesterday’s rampage. We will not be delayed or deterred in our work to lift up every one of New York’s three million students, confident in the knowledge that the way to a better world is through education, love and compassion.”
