Quality Assurance Summer Internship

Program Office/Description: 

As part of the Office of the Professions Modernization Program. A commercial off the shelf (COTS) solution has been purchased. This COTS solution will replace the current case management system used the Office of Professional Discipline. The case management system is used to manage the investigations, prosecutions, and enforcement actions of professionally licensed individuals and entities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the user stories review/ prioritization and ensuring traceability with the Business requirements.
  • Assisting in the UAT for the Case management Tool and facilitating a thorough understanding of the future state.
  • Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned on project goals and timelines.
  • Documenting and tracking defects and participating in defect triage meetings to determine the best approach to mitigate issues.
  • Assisting in the creation of project documentation as required.
  • Participating in project meetings to provide status updates and discuss any roadblocks.
  • Ensuring that all project activities are conducted in compliance with project standards and best practices.
  • Conducting Gaps and documenting any potential change requests for the future tool.
The Assignment (Description of Job): 

In this role, the intern will:

  • Review key deliverables such as Master Design Deliverable and user stories.
  • Perform research and collaborate with a small team to aid in Quality assurance testing.
  • Participate in virtual and in-person meetings and take notes as needed.
  • Participate/ Facilitate in User acceptance testing.
  • Assist in the Data migration activities such as data clean up and creation of entity databases.
  • Assist in the establishment of API touch-points to facilitate the integration between the systems.

Desired Skills, Abilities, & Educational Background: 

Students should be interested in a career in Information Technology. They should be self-starters and problem solvers who are eager to learn, have a background with Basic Microsoft application tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), business tools (Confluence, Jira, etc.), knowledge of SQL, basic knowledge in software development (SDLC), program management, and quality assurance. Qualified applicant's should be pursuing an Associates, Bachelors, or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Analytics or a similar program.

Schedule/Hours: 

Hours will be between 8a-5p, Monday through Friday. Maximum of 29 hours per week.
